Acolytes
Being an acolyte and serving at the Lord's table is a privilege and honor. Acolytes assist liturgical worship in many ways: as cross, torch, and Gospel book bearers in procession, as servers to the celebrant, and as general assistants throughout the liturgy.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild consists of four teams, each serving for one week per month. The duties include setting up the altar and caring for vessels, linens and vestments for all services for the week. We offer training and serve as a team. Each team meets at 9:00 am on Saturday to prepare for the week.
Audio Visual
All songs, texts, and liturgy for worship services are projected on large screens using MediaShout format. We invite anyone interested in preparing these presentations and has an eye for detail to contact us.
Caregiver Ministry
The Caregiver ministry is comprised of lay members of the church who visit those who are either in the hospital or are homebound. This ministry also provides meals and transportation to and from Sunday church services. Our Lay Eucharistic Ministers will take communion to the hospital and homebound as well.
Children's Sunday School
The Children's Sunday School program is held from 9:15 - 10:15 am. The program is using the Living Inside Out curriculum where kids dare to live their faith. This interactive program is for pre-kindergarten (age 4)
through grade 5. All volunteers working with children must be members for six months and willing to have a background
check.
Children's Chapel
Children's Chapel is an integrated part of our Sunday worship service. Children ages 4 to 6 are dismissed during
service for an interactive, age-appropriate, Bible based lesson. The worship time includes, prayer, music, Bible
stories lessons, crafts and games. All volunteers working with children must be members for six months and willing to have a background check.
Choir
The adult choir is made up of a blend of adults and high school age persons. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
Counters
"Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour
down for you an overflowing blessing." Malachi 3:10.
Counters receive, count and deposit monies and checks from the collection plates. Counters are divided
into four teams of three. Unless there are five Sundays in the month, each team counts only once a month.
Daughters of Prince of Peace
The Daughters are a praying group of women that meet the first Tuesday of every month in the sanctuary at 12 noon.
They begin with a Holy Eucharist service followed by a brown bag lunch lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Following lunch
and a short business meeting, the Daughters finish with prayer requests and updates. The Daughters are here to serve the church through prayer and missionary service.
Fellowship Ministry
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day
approaching". Hebrews 10:24-25(NIV).
Fellowship is a time of joining together to show love for one another,
for encouraging each other and to bring praises to God. There are times of fellowship on Sunday mornings, Wednesday
evenings and on special occasions when the Body of Christ comes together. Those who have been given gifts of
organization, hospitality, and/or food preparation are encouraged to sign up so that everyone who wishes to serve
has the opportunity, and no one is overburdened. Come, serve the Lord with gladness! Both women and men are welcome.
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild combines the love of flowers with the love of the Lord so that we may serve the Body of Christ to the Glory of God. Floral arrangements beautify His Sanctuary with the symbols of the Resurrection. Flowers are provided for the Sunday service (except during Lent), for special events and extra arrangements at Easter and Christmas. After the service small arrangements are made for those in the hospital, in nursing homes, for shut-ins, and for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.
Greeters
The greeters of Prince of Peace have a ministry of proclamation and reception. They are a Christ-centered, people-focused team committed to welcoming visitors and newcomers and helping them to find their place in our Prince of Peace family.
Healing Ministry
The Healing Ministry prays with and for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, as Jesus taught in the Gospels. Our healing service is on Wednesdays at 9:30 am. We also offer intercessory prayer on Sunday's after the service.
Intercessory Prayer
Each Sunday, intercessory prayer teams are available after communion.
Lay Reader
Lay Readers are vested and assist in the readings and the administering of the elements at any Celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Lawn Care Team
Lawn Care Teams keep our grounds looking beautiful. Have a love for Gardening? Click here for more info.
Lector
The Lector assists with the readings during the worship service.
Meal Ministry
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35 (NIV). The purpose of the meal
ministry is to show God's love to our brothers and sisters in Christ by preparing and delivering a meal to them
after a hospital visit, after the birth of a baby, etc. Two or more people will prepare and deliver the meal.
As much notice as possible is given when a meal is needed.
Office Volunteers
Office volunteers are needed to assist in our church office. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 1:30 - 4:00 pm, and Fridays from 12 noon - 3:00 pm. Duties include answering phones, greeting office visitors and assisting with mailings.
Praise Team
Psalm 98 calls us to "4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; 5 make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, 6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn - shout for joy before the Lord, the King." The Prince of Peace Praise team worships God through instrument and songs, praising Him with a blend of traditional and contemporary praise/worship music.
Ushers
This ministry greets parishioners and visitors as they come into the sanctuary. The ushers also assist with traffic flow during communion and during the offertory.
Work Parties
The Junior Warden announces work parties for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds. All volunteers are welcomed.
